This is Wit Studio's first theatrical Spy x Family project after taking over from CloverWorks for Season 2, and they specifically requested the snowy setting to showcase their background artistry.
The film's original story (not manga-adapted) deliberately mirrors the Cruise family vacation episode structure from the series' opening, but escalates the stakes to maximum absurdity — a meta-commentary on anime movie spin-offs themselves.
