Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This belongs to Egypt's 1970s 'light comedy' wave, where psychiatrists became fashionable plot devices reflecting modernization anxieties. The fake-blindness trope specifically satirized arranged marriage pressures on wealthy daughters.
Sohier Ramzy was at her commercial peak here, having just transitioned from ingénue roles to commanding star vehicles. Director Mohamed Salman specialized in these class-conscious romantic farces.
