Indiana Jones meets Chinese folklore in 60 minutes of tomb-raiding chaos.
At the beginning of the Republican Era, archaeologist Zeng Tian Hua and his friend Zhang Huai Chun start searching for the map that will lead them to the hidden treasure of the Marquis of Haihun. During the search they get to meet the tomb keeper Yue Ling and the three will have to help each other defending the tomb from the evil grave robbers who want to covet the treasure. ~~ The story is inspired from the literary records published in 2016 by Li Long Wu (黎隆武) about the Marquis of Haihun Liu He (千古悲摧帝王侯——海昏侯刘贺的前世今生).

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
The real Marquis of Haihun tomb was discovered in 2011 with over 10,000 artifacts—this film rushed production to capitalize on the headlines.
The 'tomb keeper' trope here borrows heavily from the *Daomu Biji* novel craze, China's answer to mummy movies with way more jade.
