Double Agent (1987)

80s sleazespy spoofso-bad-it's-good

Overview

Comedy

Peter Giles is an obscure inventor who is working on a laser pistol power pack and the KGB wants the designs. They send in their most reliable and sexiest pair of agents double-oh-96 and double-oh-69. They head in to suck every last drop of information from the scientist, but the CIA is on the scene. Both sides duke it out for the generator and take their battles to the bedroom where sparks will most definitely fly.

Standout Aspects

Costume

The KGB apparently shopped at Frederick's of Hollywood.

Writing

Agent names double-oh-96 and double-oh-69. That's the whole joke.

Production

Shot in someone's actual furnished basement, probably.

Best for:Solo: When you need to witness 1987's most ridiculous spy gadgets.·Background: Perfect for folding laundry while laughing at bad dubbing.
Heads up:Sexual Content: It's a Sarno film—the bedroom IS the battlefield.·Language: Dialogue so wooden it violates fire codes.
