Cultural

Mecha-ude began as a Kickstarter-funded pilot, proving international anime fandom could crowdfund original IP outside Japan's studio system.

Memorable

Director Sae Okamoto spent years pitching this concept; the skirt-Mecha-ude girl was apparently non-negotiable from day one.
