When the government sends soldiers to Mindanao, the soldiers never came back, so another group of soldiers have been sent there to retrieve the lost group of soldiers. Deep Dive

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Cultural

Chito S. Roño deliberately chose aswang mythology over Western zombies to root the horror in specifically Filipino fears of bodily corruption and social ostracization.

Insight

The 47-minute runtime was a deliberate choice—Roño wanted the compression of a nightmare where there's no time to process before the next horror hits.
