Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Georgiana was Princess Diana's great-great-great-great aunt. The film deliberately echoes this—Keira Knightley even studied Diana's interviews. Both women married cold aristocrats, suffered public humiliation, and used glamour as armor.
The famous 'hair with ship' portrait required a 4-foot wooden ship in Knightley's actual wig. She couldn't sit down for hours. Method acting is one thing; this was method hairdressing.
