Standout Aspects

Practical Effects

That Kannon back tattoo — DIY production values with genuine impact.

Acting

Shijimi commits fully to melodramatic yakuza tragedy.

Best for:Solo: Late night, moody lighting, zero interruptions.·Streaming: Niche Japanese crime rabbit hole diving.
Heads up:Violence: Yakuza beatings, off-screen but brutal implied torture.·Sexual Content: Exploitative framing of female lead; ero-guro adjacent tone.

Deep Dive

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Cultural

Direct-to-video Japanese crime films ('V-cinema') flourished in the 90s-2000s; this 2016 entry is a late, lo-fi revival of the form, trading budget for pulp sincerity.

Trivia

Airi Kiijima and Airi Kijima are likely the same performer credited twice — or the production couldn't decide how to romanize her name, which tracks with the general chaos.
