In 1926, a young couple set off into the British Columbia wilderness in search of an undiscovered mountain. A century later a group of would-be adventurers tries to retrace their steps. They soon find they've bitten off more than they can chew and it will take everything they've got to avoid disaster.

"We spent a year planning for this" - Didn't trial any of the gear. They should have done some test trips to work out the kinks IMO.

Exactly, "Dreamy ideas and visions and then reality comes in". I don't think it was intended to be a comedy, but that's what they ended up with. I feel like a lot of society is going this way; dreamy ideas and visions not rooted in reality.

*spoiler alert* As a BC treeplanter....logging really changes a landscape and makes it impassable. It's not just the dead fall but also the underbrush that grows up due to expose sunlight. Hence the bushwaking and the jungle gym experience with dead fall that really held this group back. It's not due to a magical amount of grit that people of the past had but modern man does not possess. They likely had a much easier time trekking through intact old growth forests.
