Ossetian grandfather Batraz Zelimkhanovich lives in seclusion in a mountain village. The new head of the local administration, Semyon, arrives to inform him about the decision to liquidate the village, because "one person is not an administrative unit." Semyon needs to get Batraz's written consent to move to the city, but his grandfather is not going anywhere, however, he does not understand how he can single-handedly resist the decision of the administration. Batraz sees an article in the newspaper about alpine settlements that attract millions of tourists and decides to bring life back to his native village, turning it into an eco-village. To cope with this task, he needs the help of his son and grandchildren, who find it very difficult to escape from urban life.
