Finally something worth going to the theater to see. I've seen other "rockumentaries" by James Keach and he does a great job with them.

Man I can't wait to see this ! Been a Brothers fan since I was 12 years old. I'm now 67 and their music - particularly the golden years before Duane died still gives me goosebumps to this day. Never been a band like that before or since. One of a kind and still the best there ever was !

I got to meet and spend about 20 minutes talking to him one day in 2001 outside of his home in Richmond Hill, Georgia. He and friends were stopped at the service station to gas up their bikes and I was coming to buy some fried chicken after having done yardwork all day, I walked up to him, and said Mr. Allman, I don’t want to bother you since you seem to be with your family and friends but I’ve been a fan of yours since your first album. In fact, I saw you at Love Valley North Carolina. He laughed and said yeah Duane was running from the cops that night. Anyway we talked for over 20 minutes and it was one of the highlights of my life. He was funny, humble, and just an all-around nice guy. I got an autograph that afternoon and it’s one of my prized possessions.

DocumentaryMusic

This visionary music documentary traces the turbulent, transcendent life of Gregg Allman — from a childhood ruptured by his father’s murder to the soulful emergence that reshaped American music. Through archival recordings, candid interviews, and electric performances, the film follows Gregg’s musical awakening amid the blues he worshipped, the creation of the Allman Brothers Band with his brother.
