Standout Aspects

Acting

Tony Curran's driver — unsettlingly ordinary, no cartoon villainy.

Direction

Anderson commits to the premise with zero sentimentality.

Best for:Solo: Late night, lights off, trust in humanity already shaky.·Streaming: Cheap rental, low expectations, prepare to be unpleasantly surprised.
Heads up:Violence: Sustained psychological and physical cruelty; hard to watch at times.·Disturbing: Explicit human trafficking themes; no cathartic revenge ending.

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Trivia

Shot in just 18 days on a repurposed airport shuttle bus in Connecticut. The entire budget was under $1 million.

Cultural

Part of a grim 2008 micro-trend of 'torture porn' thrillers (Vacancy, The Strangers) that punished audiences for wanting suspense.
