Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Norton rewrote significant portions of the script uncredited, clashing with Marvel so hard he was replaced for Avengers. The deleted opening with Banner's suicide attempt explains the darker tone.
The Harlem fight against Abomination remains the MCU's most brutal hand-to-hand combat, largely because they actually built parts of Harlem to destroy. Tony Stark's post-credits cameo was added last-minute to awkwardly weld this into the MCU.
