Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Goldoni's 'The Servant of Two Masters' is still performed globally, though most productions use his rival Gozzi's commedia style—ironic given Goldoni's whole rebellion was against those masks.
The film recreates actual Goldoni premieres at Venice's Teatro Malibran, which still stands—though it was crumbling and water-damaged during shooting, very on-brand for Venetian decay.
