Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This was the first Sesame Street project filmed on location at a major museum. Jim Henson reportedly charmed the Met's board into unprecedented access.
The Egyptian mythology segments were vetted by actual Met curators, making this arguably the most accurate pop culture depiction of the Book of the Dead until The Mummy (1999).
