This was a direct adaptation of the 1977 Broadway revival where Langella originated the role, making him the only Dracula to play it on stage, screen, and presumably your nightmares.
Badham shot in color then desaturated to near-sepia in post-production, creating that dreamlike haze that makes every frame look like a fever dream you shouldn't enjoy this much.
