Gothic cathedrals, pyrotechnics, and nuns—this is church service for the damned.
A home video release of a two-day live concert played by Malice Mizer on August 31 & September 1, 2000 at the Nippon Budōkan Hall in Tokyo, Japan — the band’s first performances with lead vocalist Klaha. Malice Mizer performs their fourth studio album, "Bara no Seidou" in its entirety using the gothic cathedral from the album’s cover as an enormous set piece alongside pyrotechnics and a choir of veiled nuns.
Production
Full-scale cathedral set inside a stadium. Unhinged commitment.
Costume
Klaha's debut look defined an era of elegant gothic excess.
Practical Effects
Real pyrotechnics, real nuns, zero CGI cowardice.
Director
Hiroyuki Muto
Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This Budōkan debut marked visual kei's peak theatrical ambition before the scene's commercial collapse in the early 2000s.
The veiled 'nuns' were actually professional dancers; Mana personally approved each costume's lace density.
