The film was shot in 24 days, and Zoey Deutch wore the same outfit so often she started hating it.
The mumblecore label stuck because director Ry Russo-Young came from that scene, though this is her most commercial work. The lo-fi aesthetic intentionally clashes with the glossy teen-movie tropes it's deconstructing.
