London, 1963: The Doctor returns to the place where it all began — alongside his latest companion, Ace, with unfinished business. Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This serial explicitly ties to the very first Doctor Who episode in 1963, filmed on the same street — 25 years of history collapsing into one story.
Script editor Andrew Cartmel's 'masterplan' aimed to restore mystery to the Doctor, hinting he was far more than a Time Lord — plans cut short by cancellation in 1989.
