Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
The Reys carried the original Curious George manuscript with them on their bicycle escape from Paris in 1940. It was one of the few possessions they saved.
Hans and Margret's Brazilian jungle honeymoon directly inspired the 'monkey in the big city' reversal—George was originally Fifi, a chimp from Africa in their earliest drafts.
