A crook decides to bump off members of his inept crew and blame their deaths on a legendary sea creature. What he doesn't know is that the creature is real.
Practical Effects
The creature is a wet carpet with ping pong ball eyes.
Writing
Robert Towne wrote this before Chinatown. Let that sink in.

Director
Roger Corman
Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Corman shot this in Puerto Rico using leftover sets and costumes from two other films he was making simultaneously. The 'monster' was a last-minute addition when he realized he needed to sell it as horror.
This is technically a remake of Corman's own 'The Beast from Haunted Cave' (1959), which at least had the dignity of being set in a cave instead of a suspiciously shallow-looking 'Caribbean.'
