Standout Aspects

Acting

Sivaji's trembling restraint before volcanic outbursts — a masterclass in controlled hysteria.

Score

Viswanathan-Ramamoorthy's raga-laden pathos weaponizes Carnatic music against your tear ducts.

Best for:Solo: When you need to ugly-cry about patriarchal sacrifice without judgment.·Family: Tamil grandparents will weep openly; you will pretend you weren't moved.
Heads up:Emotional: Prolonged suffering of a noble protagonist; multiple scenes of public humiliation.
