Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
The title 'Neet' refers to Japan's 'Not in Education, Employment, or Training' phenomenon — a loaded term for directionless young adults that became cultural shorthand in 2000s Japan.
Director Keiji Miyano deliberately cast actual friends from the same talent agency to create authentic chemistry; their real-life familiarity shows in the unscripted-feeling banter.
