This was the second of three 1960s Nemo films, sandwiched between Disney's 20,000 Leagues and the lesser-known Mysterious Island sequel.
The film's 'Templemer' city design influenced later underwater utopias from Bioshock to The Abyss, despite its obvious tank-bound budget constraints.
