Released in 1995, Paul Verhoeven's Showgirls was met by critics and audiences with near universal derision. You Don't Nomi traces the film's redemptive journey from notorious flop to cult classic, and maybe even masterpiece.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE SHOWGIRLS. Seen it countless times!

The only version of this movie I've seen is a version that was on VH1. The sex scenes were cut and when there was nudity, there were digital bras drawn on the girls. So all you were left with was the dialogue. It was amazing.

I wish there was an HQ filming of Showgirls: The Musical. I realized with the stage nudity the cast didn't want it captured that way, and I love the soundtrack, but I wish I could watch it again and again. :(
