A 21-minute gay crush so awkward you'll want to hide behind your couch.
Alfonso is an amateur filmmaker, in love with David (best friend of his best friend's girlfriend), and he writes him a screenplay so he could star in it. One day before shooting begins, his two best friends and even his own mind have strong opinions about his unrequited love, and they let him know, but what does Alfonso think? And, most importantly, what does David think? Love is full of clichés: it's painful, tense, confusing, but never simple.

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Part of a wave of 2010s Latin American queer short films using lo-fi aesthetics to explore class and desire. Chucho E. Quintero became known for this emotionally raw, self-aware style.
The title 'Simple' is deeply ironic—Alfonso keeps insisting his feelings aren't complicated, but the film's entire structure contradicts him. His screenplay attempts to control the narrative; reality refuses.
