Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This was Tex Ritter's third of 20 low-budget westerns for Grand National Pictures, made in just six days on a shoestring budget.
The 'hooded horsemen' imagery awkwardly evokes Klan iconography, yet the film treats them as generic bandits—1937's willingness to borrow visual terror for disposable entertainment without engaging its meaning.
