Deep Dive

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Trivia

This was adapted from the hit play 'Is Zat So?', and the studio rushed it into production to capitalize on the Broadway stars' fame before talkie novelty wore off.

Cultural

Released months before the Crash of '29, its cheerful depiction of homeless drifters would read very differently to audiences just one year later.
