Standout Aspects

Production

Twin Hills looks suspiciously like someone's actual backyard.

Costume

Wardrobe budget clearly went to one leather jacket and desperation.

Writing

Dialogue that thinks it's Chinatown but delivers Penthouse Letters.

Best for:Solo: When you want to study '90s direct-to-video aesthetics ironically.·Friends: Drinking game: take a shot every time someone says 'sinful'.·Background: Perfect for folding laundry you don't want to think about.
Heads up:Sexual Content: Softcore scenes every 12 minutes like clockwork.·Language: Euphemisms so tortured they deserve their own support group.

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Trivia

Director Fred J. Lincoln was primarily known as an adult film director; this was his rare 'mainstream' attempt.

Cultural

The 'erotic thriller' boom of 1988-1995 meant even Z-list directors got theatrical-style taglines—this one's clearly cashing in on Basic Instinct fever.
