Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Josiane Balasko co-wrote the screenplay, drawing from her own working-class Parisian roots and love of physical comedy.
The film gently mocks France's reputation for strikes while celebrating the café as sacred community space — a tension only French cinema could navigate this lightly.
