Freddie was to have played the English kid but got into a contract fight with Metro. Judy said that by the time it was settled, his voice had broken. 'Roger' stayed in the business as an editor rather than acting. Judy got on well with Sophie Tucker, who had the same 'big' screen presence. MGM teamed them again next year in 'Broadway Melody of 1938', while Tucker and Aubrey Smith were reunited in 'Sensations of 1945'. Both movies starred Eleanor Powell, who took a riff from 'Going to Town' for the music in several of her more intimate tap solos. These connections indicate the family atmosphere Mayer cultivated at Culver City.

Las comedias musicales de los 30s y los 40s siempre me han encantado. Y especialmente en las que salen Mickey Rooney y Judy Garland.
