Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Based on Sergey Fetisov's memoir 'The Story of Roman,' banned in Russia until his death. The film itself was shot in secret locations to avoid Kremlin interference.
Tom Prior (Sergey) optioned the rights himself after reading the memoir, spent years developing it. That desperation you see? That's also an actor who fought to tell this story.

Reactions from the web
I await this Film for online viewing, anxiously and eagerly. When I was a young US Airman in the 1960s, I had to come to terms with the fact that my 'inner homosexual' was screaming to come out. I was SO AFRAID. Afraid that I might slip up, give too much attention to certain Airmen; attempt something physical. I was being groomed by USAF to enter into an officer's educational program that would have put me on a career path. The fact is, I loved Military service and the Air Force. Out of fear of disgracing myself, the Air Force and my country, I opted to return to civilian life. Two years later, I "came out" with my first male partner.
