The title track was written by Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne, who spent a week perfecting it to sound authentically 1964. He won a real competition Hanks held for the song.
The film captures the precise moment before the British Invasion fully landed—Beatles references everywhere, yet the Wonders are pure American garage-band innocence about to be obliterated by history.
