This film is beautiful and when I say beautiful, I mean beautiful in every way. Mysterious & Gothic. The beauty of the Celtic culture, the music, the plot, with a twist. I watched it for the first time since I was 10 (when it came out) and watch it every now and then.

I don't know why this film was generally critically panned. It's a lot better than some of the other crap I've seen. It did fall into some predictable clichés but overall it was enjoyable, had a nice soundtrack, great scenery and was mysterious.
