Sol Roth grew up in Eugene, Oregon as a skinny, shy kid. In high school he got his first taste of theater and was hooked. He began writing his own stories and overcame the shyness that dominated his childhood. After high-school he served in the US Army and built up his body and real life adventure experience. He attended the University of Oregon and after being inspired by the stories of independent filmmakers in the in the early pre-digital filmmaking revolution he wrote, starred, and directed the feature film "Boy Who Never Slept".
