Jonathan Immanuel was born in Jakarta, 1997, with Indonesian/Chinese descent. He graduated from School of Sound Recording (SSR), Jakarta with a film and television major. While studying he wrote and directed several short films which were screened at local festivals. In addition, he has also been involved in the production of Indonesian Feature Films, such as Sekte (2019), Malam Pencabut Nyawa (2024).
