Sofiia Brook

Sofiia Brook is an emerging Ukrainian writer and director based in Toronto. Her works are drawn from her passion for filmmaking, politics, and advocacy for women’s and 2SLGBTQ+ rights. Inspired by her own experiences, Sofiia aims to craft narratives that foster an environment of recognition, representation, and empathy through different cultures. Through her character-driven stories, Sofiia explores themes of resilience, gender norms, and identity, highlighting the voices of underrepresented communities. Sofiia brings a high degree of creative and technical skill, along with a passion and perseverance in her work. Sofiia is in her last year of the Bachelor of Film and Media Production at Humber Polytechnic, where she continues to refine her storytelling skills and social justice-focused filmmaking.
