
Vasilisa Lopatina is a film director and screenwriter born in Khabarovsk, Russia. At the age of 18, she moved to Moscow and enrolled at the GITR Film and Television Institute. Her work explores themes of memory, religion, fear, and the inner state of the human mind through visual imagery and symbolism. Her three-minute short film Bardo (2024), inspired by the Tibetan Book of the Dead and the theme of reincarnation, received the award for Best Cinematography at the “We.” Film Festival and was recognized at several other festivals.
