Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Play School has launched more Australian cultural icons than most drama series—hosts regularly become national treasures, and the show's windows and rocket clock are preserved in the National Museum of Australia.
The famous 'through the windows' segments were originally shot on 16mm film by presenters themselves, creating an accidental documentary archive of 1960s-70s Australian life.
