Trivia

This marked Bob Newhart's fourth sitcom — a feat only matched by Lucille Ball and Betty White at the time.

Cultural

Created by Cheers producers Staley and Long, it arrived just as CBS was pivoting hard toward procedural dramas, sealing its fate.
