I used to labour under the delusion that Smiley's People was the inferior adaptation to Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.. now I’m not so sure.. it's uniquely its own beast... I love it. If only they could have worked out the budget and means to film the Honourable Schoolboy... it's such an insanely good trilogy!! I do hope the shelved adaptation of the Spy Who Came In From The Cold finally see's the light of day..

My parents had this and Tinker Tailor in their old VHS collection. Wonderful shows.
