With boats rolling in heavy seas, James must choose: shelter in Shetland and risk being trapped, or head for Peterhead to land a partial catch. Four hundred miles south, Siwrengale leaves Bridlington with skipper Darren and sons Lewis and Reagan, racing to catch crab before the storm hits. As conditions worsen, they switch to hunting lobster—but staying upright becomes the real challenge. Meanwhile, Revival makes a last-minute dash for prawns. When the plan fails, skipper George Jack must decide whether to risk heading into the storm for a new catch—or play it safe.
Following on from the earlier series 'Trawlermen', documentary series `Trawlermen: Hunting the Catch' follows fishermen around the clock as they embark on deep-sea fishing trips. From Shetland to Cornwall, and from the North Sea to the English Channel, cameras follow fisherman as they traverse 300,000 square miles of ocean. Each episode follows a different British fishing boat over the course of a single week as they battle the elements and hunt for a catch that will pay off for the skipper and the crew.
