Acting
Don Francks' impossibly cool jazz-cat energy as Sheppard
Production
Glorious 1966 aesthetic: turtlenecks, cigarettes, fake Europe
Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Don Francks was an actual Canadian jazz singer who recorded with Lenny Breau; his cool wasn't acting. The show leaned HARD into this, letting him perform in episodes.
Jericho premiered one month after the iconic Batman series, got crushed in ratings, and became the perfect example of 1966's TV bloodbath: too many shows, not enough viewers. Link and Levinson later created Columbo—clearly learned something about patience.
