Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Lars Molin was Sweden's master of 'folkhemmet' dark comedy, using state television to eviscerate the very welfare bureaucracy that funded him. Zoombie aired on SVT when Swedish workplace dramas were dominated by noble workers, not pathetic managers.
The title 'Zoombie' deliberately evokes both zombie (the living dead of office life) and zoom (speed/energy Holger lacks). Molin confirmed this double meaning in a 1987 interview, though Swedish critics largely missed it initially.
