Ages ago, the goddess Athena was served by fighters called Saints who channeled the power of the Cosmos within them. Now a youth named Seiya has trained to become a Saint himself by earning the mystical Cloth of Pegasus. He is joined by other Saints with Cloths of their own to fight for Athena.

Saint Seiya basically invented the 'shounen power-scream' and influenced Dragon Ball Z's pacing. Masami Kurumada's constellation armors became a merchandising empire that still prints money in Latin America and Europe.
The Hades arc was animated 13 years after the original ended because fans literally wouldn't stop demanding it. The voice cast reprised their roles despite being middle-aged, making Seiya's eternal youth hilariously audible.
