Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This sequel arrived 15 years after the original, with Alf's bigotry now aimed at Thatcher's Britain rather than Wilson's—proving some prejudices outlast any political era.
Johnny Speight allegedly received death threats from people who agreed with Alf, and from people who thought he created him. Such is the danger of effective satire.
