Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Lam Ching-Ying was already terminally ill during filming Season 2, making his final performance as the unshakeable master eerily poetic. He died months after the series ended.
The 'jiangshi' hopping vampire myth spawned an entire Hong Kong horror-comedy genre, and this series helped cement Lam Ching-Ying as its definitive on-screen Taoist priest — a role he played until his death.
