LatestTemple Houston is a 1963–64 NBC television series which has been called "the first attempt . . . to produce an hour-long Western series with the main character being an attorney in the formal sense." Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Jeffrey Hunter died just three years later at 42, making this his television farewell. He'd previously starred in The Searchers and played Jesus in King of Kings.
The real Temple Lea Houston was indeed Sam Houston's son and a famed orator, but the show invented most of his adventures. Actual history was apparently too boring for prime time.
