Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Made during France's 'cinéma du look' era, but rejects glossy style for grubby realism. Glenn was better known as a cinematographer (Truffaut's favorite) making this rare directorial outing.
Ardant reportedly did her own makeup deterioration throughout the shoot—no glam squad, just her looking increasingly wrecked.
