Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
The casino's design borrows heavily from Tow Ubukata's research into actual underground Tokyo gambling dens from the 1990s bubble economy collapse.
GoHands' distinctive 'black bars and bloom' aesthetic here was so divisive that it essentially became their studio signature — love it or loathe it, you know it's them. The technique was pioneered to hide budget constraints but became intentional visual language for Balot's fragmented perception.
